Description

Prevost Micro Air Filtration

Ultra-Clean Air for Critical Industrial & Automotive Applications

The Prevost Micro Air Filtration series is a high-performance submicronic filtration system designed for environments where standard particulate filters aren’t enough. While a standard filter protects tools from rust and large debris, Micro Air filters remove 99.99% of contaminants, including microscopic oil aerosols, water droplets, and fine dust.

Whether you are performing high-end automotive refinishing, food-grade packaging, or sensitive laboratory work, these filters ensure your air is “technically oil-free” and pure.

The Three-Stage Precision Hierarchy

Prevost offers three distinct grades of Micro Air filtration, often used in series to achieve ultimate purity:

  1. Grade MFM (1 Micron – White): The mechanical pre-filter. It removes solid particles and liquid water down to 1 micron. It is essential for protecting the more sensitive stages that follow.
  2. Grade MFB (0.01 Micron – Green): The submicronic coalescing filter. This stage removes 99.99% of oil aerosols and extremely fine particles, ensuring the air is virtually free of oil mist.
  3. Grade MFC (Activated Carbon – Black): The final polishing stage. Using activated carbon, it adsorbs oil vapors and eliminates odors/tastes from the air line. This is critical for breathable air (when properly certified) or high-end water-based paint systems.

Key Features

  • HEPA-Grade Media: Utilizes borosilicate glass microfiber with a filtration surface area 4.5x larger than conventional media, providing superior retention with 50% less pressure drop.
  • Patented Venturi Element: The internal design features a nesting system that ensures turbulence-free airflow, maximizing CFM while minimizing energy loss.
  • Clogging Indicator: Most units come equipped with a differential pressure gauge. The needle moves to the red zone when the element is saturated, taking the guesswork out of maintenance.
  • Safety Audible Alarm: A unique safety feature that sounds an audible warning if an operator attempts to unscrew the filter bowl while the system is still under pressure.
  • Corrosion-Resistant Housing: The aluminum body and filter head are protected by a dual-layer coating, making them resistant to the aggressive synthetic oils found in modern compressors.
