When the air supply is turned on, this valve restricts the flow, allowing pressure to build slowly downstream. Once the system reaches approximately 50-60% of the input pressure, the valve automatically snaps fully open, delivering full flow. This controlled ramp-up allows cylinders and actuators to move gently into their home positions, protecting internal seals, reducing wear on mechanical linkages, and ensuring operator safety by preventing violent machine movements.
