Description

Prevost Conex Micro Extended Male Elbow

The High-Clearance Solution for Compact Manifolds

The Prevost Conex Micro Extended Male Elbow is a specialized push-to-connect fitting designed for intricate pneumatic systems where space is tight but clearance is required. Unlike a standard elbow, the “Extended” (or Long) version features a taller vertical neck.

This added height allows the fitting to “jump” over neighboring components—such as other fittings, wires, or structural lips—on a crowded valve manifold or control panel. Part of the Conex Micro range, it delivers full-scale industrial performance in a miniaturized, precision-engineered body.

Key Features

  • Extended Vertical Profile: Provides extra clearance from the mounting surface. This is essential for stacking fittings in parallel or routing tubing over the top of existing pneumatic lines without kinking.
  • 360° Swivel Body: The elbow rotates fully around its threaded base after installation. This allows you to orient the tube exit in any direction for perfect alignment, even in the most cramped enclosures.
  • Precision Push-to-Connect: Features a high-quality internal gripping ring that allows for instant, tool-free tube insertion. It provides a secure, vibration-resistant hold on Polyurethane (PU) and Nylon (PA) tubing.
  • Miniaturized Footprint: Despite the extended height, the overall diameter and width of the fitting are minimized to allow for high-density placement on multi-port manifolds.
  • Pre-Coated Threads: Most models come with a pre-applied sealant on the male threads (or an integrated O-ring), ensuring an airtight seal immediately upon installation without the need for Teflon tape.

Why Use an “Extended” Elbow?

In advanced pneumatic design, fittings are often placed very close together. A standard male elbow might be too low, causing the tubing to strike an adjacent fitting or making it impossible to rotate the elbow during installation. The Extended Male Elbow solves this “collision” problem by lifting the swivel point above the surrounding obstructions. This enables cleaner, more organized “layered” tubing runs.

Ideal Applications

  • Miniature Valve Manifolds: Perfect for routing lines from densely packed solenoid valves.
  • Robotic End-Effectors: Providing clearance for air lines near the moving joints of small-scale automation.
  • Medical Diagnostic Equipment: Used in compact fluidic or pneumatic circuits where internal space is at a premium.
  • Electronic Testing Jigs: Connecting small air cylinders and actuators in confined testing environments.

Installation Best Practice

Because these fittings are “Micro,” they require precision handling. Use a small wrench on the hexagonal base rather than the polymer body to tighten the fitting. Once the base is secure, you can rotate the elbow head to the desired orientation and insert your squared-off tubing.
