The Prevost Float Drain is a critical performance upgrade for any air preparation system. While manual drains require an operator to remember to purge the system daily, the Prevost Float Drain works autonomously. As water and oil aerosols accumulate in the filter bowl, an internal buoyant float rises, automatically opening the valve to discharge the liquid before it can be “carried over” into your air lines.

It is the most effective way to ensure 24/7 dry air without the need for constant human intervention.

• Fully Automatic Operation: Uses the physical principle of buoyancy to trigger drainage.¹ When the liquid level reaches a specific height, the valve opens; once drained, it reseats instantly, preventing any loss of compressed air.
• Energy Efficient: Unlike electronic solenoid drains that require a power source and can waste air by firing on a timer (even when no water is present), the float drain only operates when there is liquid to remove.
• Direct “ALTO” & “Micro Air” Compatibility: Designed to fit seamlessly into the base of Prevost ALTO and Micro Air filter bowls. It can be easily retrofitted into existing units to replace manual drains.
• Integrated Manual Override: Most Prevost float drains feature a manual override button or twist-lock, allowing maintenance teams to test the drain’s function or manually purge the system at any time.
• Debris-Resistant Mechanism: Engineered with a wide discharge orifice and protective screening to prevent small particles of pipe scale or sludge from clogging the valve or keeping it stuck open.
• Compact & Internal: The low-profile design fits inside the bowl guard, protecting the drain mechanism from external impacts and shop-floor hazards.
